Ovimbudu - Ceremonial Staff with Nana Yakoma Figure
Height: 19 1/4 inches
Brown patina, waxed, round bar, with female half figure which is very intricately made. Modeled
torso and arms, ending in an also intricately worked, grooved skirt. A finely carved face with
raised features. Grooves in the cheek and raised circular design at the forehead. Finely carved
hair-style with traces from red wood powder. Nana Yakoma figures are embodiments of the watchers
of the holy fire.
